About Us
Moore Livestock is a family-owned ranch located at the base of the Crazy Mountains just west of Two Dot. Our ranch was homesteaded in 1873 by Perry J. Moore as the first sheep ranch in the Upper Musselshell Valley and has remained in the Moore family ever since. These days Steve and Susan Moore, son Sanford and daughter Rachel, own and operate the ranch. Over these five generations the ranch has seen sheep and Hereford cows, and currently raise all-natural, Black Angus cattle.

Practices
Here at Moore Livestock, we take great pride in the quality and well-being of our cattle. Spending their entire lives on the ranch, our cows are allowed access to ample and diverse grazing and plentiful, naturally-occurring water sources. Moved about regularly, they are ensured fresh grass all summer and ranch-grown grass and alfalfa hay in the winter.
Our ranch participates in the IMI Global Beef Verification Programs, which verify that our cattle are Angus bred, ranch born and raised, non-hormone treated, free of antibiotics, and that our ranch is GAP-compliant (Global Animal Partnership’s 5-Step Animal Welfare Program). Our cows are given as much TLC as possible and are never confined to a feed lot.
For our frozen beef products, we continue to raise our yearlings on grass and hay, then finish them for 60 days on a special mixture of grain, giving our beef that classic, Angus taste. Customers rave about our tender, flavorful beef; some would even say, “par excellence”!
